Elevating navigation and delighting users.

Ideal for road warriors using hotel Wi-Fi or 5G mobile data, Smart Office serves users wherever they are.

Smart Office was originally built to:

Make and receive audio and/or video calls, send instant messages, and collaborate with video and screen sharing directly from a desktop or mobile devices.

Seamlessly move calls between clients, desktop phones, and mobile devices.

Deliver PBX calling services, unified company directory, user presence, instant messaging, conversation logs, voice and video conferencing, and screen sharing.

Project Goal

-

With a major customer at risk due to poor user experience, I faced a tight three-month deadline to rectify the issue. Our objective was clear: to provide an enhanced user experience with improved navigation and quick actions. The redesign process encompassed comprehensive user research, competitive analysis, prototyping, and rigorous testing.

UX Audit

+
-

I conducted a UX audit of the app to identify usability issues, prioritizing them as critical, serious, medium, or low. I then presented these findings to key stakeholders. Additionally, I sent out surveys and conducted interviews with our customers, who highlighted pain points such as poor navigation, clunky layouts, and unintuitive interactions that caused confusion and frustration.

Opportunity

The original design started to look dated and needed a refresh. The new design had to achieve the following goals:

Provide a stylish modern look and feel - establish trust with users.
Provide a more delightful user experience.

Reflection

-

This project was a thrilling test of my ability to deliver under intense deadlines. Having just joined the company, I was immediately handed this critical task. Far from being nervous, I was excited and deeply grateful for the trust placed in me to revamp an existing product, impress key stakeholders, and delight our customers.

Bottom Line

+
-

My design decisions were grounded in thorough research and user testing. One of the primary objectives was to gain users' trust and confidence in the app. The redesign garnered positive feedback from both customers and the internal team using Smart Office.

Witnessing the product's dramatic turnaround was incredibly rewarding. Not only did we retain the customer, but we also expanded our relationship with them, extending to our other UCaaS and CPaaS offerings.
